Last Word Putter

Cayman Golf Company Last Word PutterThe Cayman Golf Company promises you’ll have the last word on the green with this putter (no guarantees of course; if you suck, you suck!). Its uniquely shaped mallet-type head prevents the putter’s toe or heel contacting the green which leads to a steadier putt. Additionally, the putter is face balanced, to eliminate twisting during your stroke. The three milled sight lines will help you lock your aim straight at the hole.

Available colors are natural metallic and black.

Nike Sasquatch 460 Tour Driver

Nike Sasquatch 460 Tour DriverA gigantic 460cc head (biggest footprint in golf says Nike) with a tall face that’s made of layered yet tightly compressed titanium called NexTi, developed exclusively for Nike Golf is the main characteristic of the Big Foo… I mean Sasquatch tour driver. NexTi is supposedly thinner, lighter and stronger than conventional titanium.

This is the "tour" Sasquatch version, which basically means "no newbies allowed".

Nickent Genex 3DX IronWood

Nickent Genex 3DX IronWood hybrid golf clubsEven though hybrid golf clubs are mostly targeted at recreational golfers and beginners, the Nickent Genex 3DX IronWood clubs are gaining popularity among Tour pros as well. In fact, the latest info says these are the #1 on the Tour, which tells a lot about their quality.

As all hybrids, the 3DX IronWood combine elements of both woods and irons in their design, which means they’ll help you get your ball in the air easier and not punish every single little mistake you make. But all the features of the 3DX, like the proprietary 3-dimensional weighting system, a design that produces a center-of-gravity which closely matches the CG of a lofted fairway wood and the positioning of more mass in the visible weight port at the rear of the club head, should help you on your shots even more. There’s 17 hybrid lofts in right- and left-handed models, one club every 1.5°—from 14° to 29° available.

Guerin Rife Two Bar Putter

Guerin Two Bar Putter

Believe it or not, the Guerin Rife Two Bar Putter is actually a very nice putter, although it looks more like the Millenium Falcon spaceship from Star Wars than a golf club at first. The two bars that give this putter its unique (and extravagant) look will give you some extra stability, but the main feature of the Two Bar Putter is the GrooveRoll technology. Here’s a how the manufacturer describes this technology: "The precisely milled grooves slightly press into the cover of the ball gripping and lifting it out of its own depression. As a result, the Two Bar putter only needs 1 degree of loft to simulate the same launch angle as traditional lofted putters (standard is 4 degrees) without the negative effects (backspin). The end result is a ball that launches into the air with a slight forward rotation instead of backspin. This eliminates the skipping and skidding created by traditional putters, creating a more consistent and accurate roll, every time." Sounds convincing and reasonable to me.

Btw… The two bars can fire off ground-2-ground missiles to help you let off steam on your next missed winning putt.

Ping G5 Driver

Ping G5 DriverThe Ping G5 driver must be one of the hottest and most wanted drivers introduced in 2005. Its giant 460cc head with improved internal weight placement gives the G5 a greater moment of inertia, providing more stability, control and forgiveness. Other notable features include the web crown design, improved variable face geometry, robotic plasma wields (high tech people!) and lofts up to 13.5 degrees (offset versions available as well).

You better start doing some voice exercises if you’re planning on getting it. Judging by all the rave reviews the Ping G5 has received, you’ll be yelling "FORE!" a lot more from now on.

Ben Hogan BH-5 Irons

Ben Hogan BH-5 Iron SetThe BH-5 irons are the first fully cast stainless steel irons in the Ben Hogan product line. These are being marketed as extremely fogiving irons - "Whoever said you can’t buy forgiveness never tried the new BH-5 irons." - is their punchline. But judging from the reviews I’ve read, the BH-5 irons aren’t that forgiving. You still need a decent swing to hit well (I thought that was the case with any golf club???). You can’t deny them the sleek, sophisticated, yet still serious look though.

Putt-her (The sexy putter)

Putther the sexy putterNow here’s something you don’t see every day. The Putt-her by Blueball sports will certainly get you attention anywhere you play. It looks just like a regular putter when it’s stored in your golf bag (turned with the head up), but when you take it out to score that winning putt, it reveals a surprise. A sexy surprise! That’s when the black cover floats into the grip and you (and your buddies) get to see a hot babe in a bikini. This thing would make a great gift for any golfer.

Safety tip: make sure there’s no golfers with a heart condition around you, when using this baby.

TaylorMade R540xd Woods

TaylorMade R540xd WoodsThe XD in TaylorMade R540XD stands for "extra distance". Bet you didn’t know that, did you? Hmm.. I wonder how much extra distance I’d get on my shots using a club with "extra distance" in the name. Probably about 10 yards or so, which means I’d be hitting 90 instead of 80 yards with a 3 wood. Yes, yes.. The about page says this site was created by golf enthusiasts, but being enthusiastic about something doesn’t mean you’re automatically good at it as well. Enough about my golfing (in)abilities, let’s move to some tech data.

The sole of TaylorMade 540XD woods has a low, deep center of gravity, which makes it easy to get the ball in the air quickly and with little effort. The shallow steel face promotes longer carry and increased distance and the dual crown lines are an effective aiming tool. Graphite is the only shaft available (stiff and regular flex) and there’s no TaylorMade R540XD woods for left handers. No. 3, 5 and 7 with 15°, 17.5° and 20° loft. Anything else? Probably, but I’m too lazy to do some real research…

Big Bertha 454 Driver

Callaway Big Bertha Titanium 454 cc DriverHere she is - the Bertha! This beauty is probably the cause of many golfers’ wet dreams. A lot of stories and reviews have been written about the Big Bertha 454 titanium driver so you probably know all there is to know about this driver, that’s why I won’t bore you with technical details about the Bertha. There is one thing I’d like to point out though. This is Callaway’s biggest (454cc) rule conforming driver, and a big club face usually means the golf club is forgiving to small errors we all occasionally make (or not so occasionally in my case, but that’s another story). This means that the Bertha, with its 454 cc titanium constructed head, should help you a lot on those few bad shots.
